Zydeco Dependents Picture

Zydeco Dependents is comprised of seasoned musicians who are deeply rooted in the musical styles of South Louisiana - Zydeco, Cajun and Swamp Blues. Cajun music is the traditional music brought to Louisiana by the French immigrants exiled from Acadia in the 18th century. Zydeco, the music of the Creole people, was created by blending Cajun and early forms of Delta Blues and R & B. The focus of Cajun music is upbeat two-steps and melodic waltzes with Cajun French Lyrics. Zydeco music captivates dancers with its slower, pulsating polyrhythms.

Led by the button accordion, Zydeco Dependents captures the unique qualities if these irresistible musical forms and delivers it ito its audiences with a high-energy performance that appeals to people of all ages.
