A typical two round game is comprised of three contestants in the first round with only two contestants moving ahead to the second round. The first round allows for self-bonking as contestants hurry to whack themselves with a mallet to be the first to answer. All questions in this round are simple, fast and funny.
Round two introduces the famous "Back Bonk" where questions are tougher. This encourages contestants to bonk each other, thereby forcing their opponent to answer. This is also the round where contestants are asked to do such things as dance the Macarena or sing a silly nursery rhyme. If they don't want to do it, they had better be quick with the mallet. |
The winner of each game is offered a chance for bonus prizes in a "Speed Bonk Challenge". The game is then repeated with three new contestants. A typical show is comprised of three games with a fourth and final "Bonk Bash" round to determine the evening's champion.
Between games, the Bonk Show is interspersed with hilarious commercial parodies, cheesy consolation prizes and audience participation. The "Bonk Babe" assists the host with gags and slapstick while a live keyboard player spices things up with timely and quick-witted music.
