Alex Bevan

"Bevan should be a star because of the common chord he manages to strike in people. He transcends the sensitive singer/songwriter level through use of humor all to rare to the genre. He touches all the bases."

Alex Bevan

Emmy Award recipient, Alex Bevan practices storytelling in the acoustic tradition, weaving intricate and singable melodies with words that fill the inner reaches of the heart and mind. His guitar playing is flawless, his voice compelling and his performances are masterful.
Performing in the "Low Tech and Proud" style, Alex mixes a blend of music and comedy to provide a unique and engaging performance that is compellingly interactive in nature and seduces his audiences into fits of unintentional ecstasy and spontaneous blarney rippling with joyous group vocalizations...In other words: The guy is like a traveling -campfire- singalong-troubador.
A discography that includes such gems as The Grand River Lullaby, Watersongs, South Shore Serenade and Homework is proof positive of a troubadour’s life well spent.

Family Programs

In addition to his adult performances, Alex Bevan has also written music and performed music for the younger audience. In addition to collaborating with Dave Young on a musical fairytale with an environmental message titled “Who Killed the Dragon?”, Alex has penned two well received and award winning critically acclaimed works. “Magic Moments from the Children’s Nature Schoolhouse” (produced for the Lake Metroparks) and “All the Rivers Run” (Produced for the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center) mark the maturing of Alex’s “children’s educational” music into a style that is engaging to young people and not offensive to parents.

"Probably the most pleasurable aspect of Bevan's show is the diversity of music; the ability to leap into a foot-stomper right after a soft whispered song... extremely enjoyable."
